U.K. insurers have called on the government to strike a deal on the transition period after Brexit to protect their interests, Belfast Telegraph reported. Huw Evans, director general of the Association of British Insurers, said that delaying agreement on the transition will destroy its value for insurers, which will force them to put Brexit contingency plans into place if a deal is not reached soon. The European Union and the United Kingdom have not been able to agree on the precise duration of the transition period and the rights of EU nationals coming to the UK while the transition is in place.
