U.K.-based JLT Reinsurance Brokers Ltd. said that alternative capital investors are not looking to exit the reinsurance and insurance-linked securities market despite the sector facing an aggregate loss of around $100 billion due to recent natural disasters, Artemis.bm reports. JLT Re said that even though reinsurers and ILS investors are "on the hook for a substantial portion of this amount," the market is dealing with these losses from a position of capital strength, with an estimated $60 billion of excess capital.
