Ransomware attacks rise 400%, healthcare sector an easy target: Beazley

A report by U.K.-based specialty insurer Beazley P.L.C. has found that the rate of ransomware attacks grew by 400% year over year in 2016, with the number of attacks likely to double this year, News 1130 reported. An executive at Beazley said that healthcare organizations make good targets for ransomware attacks because they usually do not have the sophisticated backup systems and resilience measures that are typical of large corporations.
