John Andre, vice-president at A.M. Best Co. Inc., has said that mergers and acquisitions will likely continue in the global reinsurance industry, but on a smaller scale than the last few years, The Royal Gazette reports.

Large mergers and acquisitions "are harder — they take so long to absorb," said Mr. Andre. The M&As of the small and medium type "might not be a straightforward merger," said Mr. Andre, adding that "it might be a company acquiring a team of analysts from another company and hopefully taking their business with them."
