6.0-magnitude quake sets off seismic warning system in Mexico City

Mexico's National Seismology Service said that a 6.0-magnitude earthquake hit the country's southern region, setting off the seismic warning system in Mexico City, reported La Prensa.

Thousands of people ran into the streets as the quake hit, but there have been no damage or injuries, said the service.

The quake hit a depth of 35 kilometers and caused buildings across Mexico City to sway.
