50% possibility of La Nina in 2016: Meteorologists

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology said that climate models indicate a 50% chance of the La Nina weather phenomenon emerging in 2016, reports Reuters.

La Nina could affect the supply of global grains, mainly wheat and corn, analysts said. La Nina is associated with lower-than-average rainfalls in North America. The bureau had earlier said that a strong El Nino weather pattern would likely end in the second quarter of 2016 and La Nina could follow.
