Ukraine has fully or partially prohibited all Russian airlines from overflying or flying to and from the Ukrainian territory, Financial Tribune reported citing TASS news agency.
Vladimir Tasun, head of the Russian Association of Air Transport Operators, said that a transit ban would add up to 40 minutes to flight times to Turkey and result in losses of "tens of millions of dollars" to the airlines.
RT.com reported that Ukraine has also sanctioned Russia's largest airline OJSC Aeroflot and its three subsidiaries.
The sanctions have also hit 28 Russian banks and state television channels, among others.
