A.M. Best Co. Inc. has said that the lifting of sanctions on Iran may present notable prospects for the Middle East and North African insurance and reinsurance market, CPI Financial reported.

The removal of sanctions is also likely to draw European participants to the country, said the rating agency. The Iranian insurance market has been growing despite the sanctions and recorded gross premiums written worth $7.5 billion in 2014. Reinsurers are expected to be the first to take advantage of the Iranian market after the sanctions are lifted, said A.M. Best.
