Japan: More leaks suspected at Fukushima nuclear plant, says regulator

Tokyo Electric Power Co. Inc. has said there has been a sharp increase in radiation levels in some pipes and storage tanks at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, reports CNN.

Following this, Japanese Nuclear Regulation Authority Chairman Shunichi Tanaka said many pipes and tanks at the site are feared to be leaking contaminated water. While TEPCO has said the newly detected leak is small, the revelation has nonetheless caused concerns as the company had said some weeks back that around 300 tons of contaminated water had leaked from another tank.
