BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Italy's Generali reports 6.3% rise in first quarter profits

Italy-based Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. posted a net income of €603 million ($787 million) for the first quarter of 2013, a 6.3% rise from the same period a year earlier, Bloomberg reported.

The insurer has attributed the growth to its nonlife business, which saw a 27% rise in operating income. Chief executive Mario Greco said that the insurer recorded its "best operating result of the last four years" in the first quarter, and credited it to the performance of its property/casualty segment.
