Poultry farmers in China have said that they are facing a lot of difficulties in securing insurance for their business, after the recent H7N9 bird flu outbreak, reports China Daily.

A breeder said that he had recently considered "buying agricultural insurance" but many insurers turned him down "due to the high risks." Several insurers, including Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Co. of China Ltd., provide policies for H7N9 bird flu, but these come under life insurance.
