Reinsurers' business model is changing as reinsurer's increasingly look to alternative instruments to transfer risk, Artemis.bm reported, citing a report published by Conning & Co.
According to the report, the current insurance-linked securities market is estimated at about $35 billion in terms of market size, accounting for some 15% of total property-catastrophe reinsurance capacity. This market is set to grow as the ILS space continues to evolve with new structuring methods, attracting both reinsurers and investors.
