IKEA recalls meatballs from Europe and Asia over horsemeat scandal

Swedish furniture company IKEA International A/S has recalled meatballs from its stores across Europe and Asia after the Czech State Veterinary Administration found horsemeat in one of the batches of IKEA meatballs, reports South China Morning Post.

IKEA said that 760kg of meatballs from the affected batch, which was supplied by a Swedish firm, had been sent to 12 other European countries and they are now being recalled. As an added precaution, the company is recalling all meatballs supplied by the same Swedish supplier, which will see meatballs being recalled from stores in 21 European countries and in Hong Kong, Thailand and the Dominican Republic.
