INDIANAPOLIS—WellPoint Inc. named longtime executive John Martie as president and CEO of its national accounts business, the health insurer said Tuesday.
Mr. Martie, president of WellPoint's Colorado local group plan, has been with Indianapolis-based WellPoint for 14 years.
He succeeds John Langenus, who announced his retirement last week from the WellPoint national accounts unit, which serves more than 12 million members.
As measured by members, WellPoint says it is the nation's largest health insurer with 34 million members enrolled in its affiliated plans.
