LONDON—Chaucer Holdings P.L.C. will underwrite about £707.2 million ($1.1 billion) of business at Lloyd’s of London in 2011.
London-based Chaucer, which operates multiline syndicate 1084 and nuclear syndicate 1176 at Lloyd’s of London, said that for 2011 its total underwriting interests at Lloyd’s would increase by 7.6% from the total in 2010.
Chaucer provided about 85% of the capacity for syndicates 1084 and 1176 in 2010.
Chaucer made the announcement after the end of the “coming-into-line” process at Lloyd’s by which syndicates’ business plans are reviewed and approved.
