BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Obama to meet with insurance commissioners

WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama will meet Wednesday at the White House with about 30 state insurance commissioners, including National Assn. of Insurance Commissioners President and West Virginia Insurance Commissioner Jane Cline, to discuss implementation issues related to the new health care reform law, an NAIC spokeswoman said.

Originally, President Obama had been scheduled to speak at the NAIC summer meeting last month in Seattle. But that address was canceled due to a scheduling problem and rescheduled for this month.

The meeting comes six months after the passage of the reform legislation and the start of the effective date of numerous provisions of the reform law. Reform provisions that kick in for plan years beginning on or after Sept. 23 include a prohibition on annual lifetime dollar limits and an extension of coverage to employees’ adult children up to age 26.
