BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

whistleblower

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration has ordered a Scottsdale, Arizona-based ammunition manufacturer, which allegedly forced an employee from its board of directors after he reported potentially illegal stock transactions, to pay him $597,000 in damages, the Department of Labor said Monday.

The Department of Labor said in its statement the fine reflects $485,000 in compensatory damages, more than $61,000 in back wages and $51,000 in attorney’s fees. It said the company has appealed the order to its Office of Administrative Law Judges.

Following a whistleblower investigation, OSHA also ordered Ammo Inc. to reinstate the employee preliminarily to his previous position.

The Department of Labor’s policy is to not release the names of employees involved in whistleblower complaints.

The company did not respond to a request for comment.
