Idaho lawmakers approved a bill in the House on Tuesday that would qualify residents for workers compensation coverage if they were to fall ill after receiving an employer-mandated vaccine.
The measure passed the House on a 67-3 vote and will head to the Senate on Tuesday.
The bill mandates “when an employer requires an employee to receive a vaccination in the course of employment or as a condition of hiring or continued employment, any accident or injury caused by such vaccination shall be compensable.”
Supporters say the bill expands necessary workers compensation coverage, while opponents say these claims are already compensable.
(Reuters) – A U.S. federal judge on Monday ruled United Airlines Holdings Inc. can impose a COVID-19 vaccine mandate on its employees that only provides unpaid leave for workers who are exempted for medical or religious reasons.
