AmTrust Financial Services Inc. on Monday named J. Daniel Hickey as group chief underwriting officer.
Mr. Hickey, who joined New York-based AmTrust in July 2017 as executive vice president, business strategy and business development, replaces Julian Griffiths, who will be taking on a new role as executive vice president of underwriting, according to an AmTrust spokeswoman.
Prior to joining AmTrust, Mr. Hickey was executive vice president and head of the standard lines business unit for PartnerRe Ltd.
AmTrust, which last year grappled with a series of problems including earnings restatements and a falling share price, is in the midst of a buyout deal that would take the workers compensation insurer private.
