BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Chubb Ltd. on Wednesday named Richard Barnett, executive vice president, head of North America construction surety.

The announcement follows former Chubb surety executive Matthew Lubin’s appointment as president of the surety division at Crum & Forster Holding Corp., effective Sept. 20.

Whitehouse Station, New Jersey-based Mr. Barnett joined Chubb in 1986 as a surety underwriter and previously was surety director of engineering and construction, where he managed underwriting for large construction clients, Chubb said in a statement.

In his new role, Mr. Barnett will lead underwriting, strategy and manage construction surety coverages and services offered through Chubb’s global large accounts segment, the insurer said.

He will report to Stephen Haney, vice president, Chubb Group and division president, North America surety and chief underwriting officer, global surety.

Meanwhile, in his new role Mr. Lubin will be responsible for growing and managing Crum & Forster’s surety portfolio and will report to Crum & Forster CEO Marc Adee, the Morristown, New Jersey-based subsidiary of Canada-based Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. said Tuesday.

Mr. Lubin joins Crum & Forster after more than three decades in various surety-focused leadership roles at Chubb, the last five years as executive vice president for construction surety.
