Hub expands footprint in South with med mal buy

Hub International Ltd. said Wednesday it has acquired the assets of Lake Charles, Louisiana-based medical professional liability broker Todd & Associates LLC.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1939, Todd & Associates provides tailored coverages to businesses and its expertise in health care will strengthen Hub’s specialty practices, Hub said in a statement.
“The addition of Todd & Associates to our region broadens our services and brings valuable expertise, particularly in medical malpractice,” Shaun Norris, president of Hub Gulf South said in a statement.
Louis Todd, owner of Todd & Associates, and his team will join Hub Gulf South and report to Mr. Norris, Hub said. Todd & Associates has about 60 employees, according to its website.
Hub is the fifth-largest broker of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking. The brokerage has about 12,000 employees located throughout North America, according to the statement.
