BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Productivity up in pandemic: Survey

work from home

Companies that wanted to curb the risk of the spread of COVID-19 among workers sent many of them home to work amid the comfort of kids, pets and household duties.

The million-dollar question is: Did employers run into the risk of low productivity? Survey says: No.

Forty-one percent of workers who began telecommuting say they are more productive, according to a recent survey of 2,000 Americans, conducted by JDP, a Pittsburgh-based company that conducts employee screenings. Thirty-three percent said they were less productive, and 26% reported the same productivity.

A third of respondents said they have “more work” in the pandemic, with 49% saying that’s because it’s hard to maintain work-life balance, and 9% saying they are doing more work because they are afraid to lose their jobs, according to results released Wednesday.

Regarding the traditional nine to five, Monday through Friday work week? Kaput, as the survey found that 66% of respondents are working outside of normal business hours, including weekends.
