BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Prominent risk manager arrested on sexual assault charges

A former North Las Vegas risk manager and prominent member of the Nevada risk management community was arrested last week on child sexual assault charges.

According to Clark County Detention Center records, Alonzo G. Johnson was arrested Friday on multiple charges, including 11 counts of sexual assault against a child under 14 and two counts of sexual assault against a child under 16.

In an email, a North Las Vegas city spokesman confirmed the charges and that Mr. Johnson has been terminated from his position as risk management and liability manager for the city. He said he could not comment further because it is an open investigation.

Mr. Johnson has been in the job since last year and previously held risk management positions with the Las Vegas Valley Water District and at various gaming companies, according to his LinkedIn page.

He has also been active with the Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc., including serving on its Nevada chapter board of directors. A RIMS spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.

In addition, he was president of the Public Risk Management Association’s Nevada chapter, according to the organization’s website. PRIMA could not immediately be reached for comment.
