Axa XL, a division of Axa SA, on Wednesday named Elizabeth W. Benet to the newly created role of global chief underwriting officer for cyber, to help manage its global cyber risk portfolio.
Based in New York, Ms. Benet will report to Nancy Bewlay, chief underwriting officer, long tail risk, the insurer said in a statement.
In her new role, Ms. Benet will “closely monitor” the insurer’s cyber risk portfolio and exposure from an aggregated global product view, according to the statement.
Ms. Benet joins Axa XL from her own consulting business where she helped insurers develop and implement new coverages and provided underwriting, claims and reinsurance purchasing advice, the insurer said. Prior to that she held underwriting positions at Beazley PLC, Berkshire Hathaway’s’ General Re Corp. and Zurich Financial Services.
