Axa XL hires former Zurich exec

Axa XL, a division of Axa SA, on Monday said it has hired Jennifer Arezes, former head of Zurich Insurance Group Ltd.’s commercial property insurance business in Canada, as a senior underwriter for large property insurance based in Toronto.
Ms. Arezes will work alongside Ian Rutherford, head of property, Canada, and Urs Uhlmann, CEO and country manager Axa XL, Canada, to grow the insurer’s property/casualty large property business nationally, Axa XL said in a statement.
In this new role, Ms. Arezes will develop and structure tailor-made risk coverages to win new business and retain existing policyholders, focusing on Canadian clients with large global exposures, Axa XL said.
