Help

BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

William Shatner

Captain Kirk will boldly go where no man has gone before to protect your collectibles.

Actor William Shatner, best known for his role of Captain Kirk on “Star Trek,” wants to make sure you can get the value out of your baseball collection, vintage Fiestaware or Hollywood memorabilia with legally binding contracts that fight fraud, according to blockchain news website CoinDesk.

The veteran actor partnered with legal tech firm MTRM Industries Ltd., dba Mattereum, according to the site, to create smart contracts that create “digital twins” of an individual’s memorabilia that can help determine the authenticity of the collectibles. Mr. Kirk said that the system also will be able to provide data on the various locations the item has been and its prior owners, said the site.

Mattereum has since debuted its first item — an autographed photo of Captain Kirk in casual attire — that is in Mr. Shatner’s personal collection.
