Tokio Marine HCC on Tuesday named Christopher Skarinka president of its public risk group, effective April 1, succeeding Thomas Harmeyer, who will continue to serve the division as executive chairman.
Mr. Skarinka, who is currently chief operating officer for professional lines and public risk groups, joined the Houston-based specialty insurer in 2018, according to a Tokio Marine HCC statement.
He co-founded risk analytics firm Athenium Analytics, where he was president and a member of the board, the company said in the statement.
Mr. Skarinka’s expertise in designing technology solutions for insurance will help the company execute its growth plans for its public entity practice, said Mr. Harmeyer in the statement.
Tokio Marine HCC’s public risk group offers a range of risk control services to government agencies and organizations.
Tokio Marine HCC said Monday that longtime insurance industry executive Susan Rivera has joined the Houston-based specialty insurer as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
