Jason Meador was named the head of group captives for alternative markets for Zurich North America effective Jan. 1.
Mr. Meador, located in Schaumburg, Illinois, is responsible for the operational management of the insurer’s group captives business, including member-owned, agency and fronted captives, and reports directly to David Putz, head of alternative markets for Zurich, the company said in a statement Tuesday.
Prior to his current role, he served as the chief operating officer for alternative markets, a position he had held since January 2018, and was previously head of strategic execution for North America. He joined Zurich in 2013.
Mr. Meador replaces Terry McCafferty, who left Zurich to become president and CEO of Falls Lake Insurance Cos. in 2018.
Karen Reutter, who most recently worked for Willis Towers Watson PLC as head of construction broking for North America, has been named head of construction for Zurich North America, the insurer said Monday.
