JLT Specialty USA, a subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group P.L.C., said Wednesday that Dan Phebus has been named to the new position of senior vice president, and head of mining for the Americas.
Based in Denver, Mr. Phebus will be primarily responsible for leading development and growth throughout the Americas of the brokerage’s mining business within JLT’s energy, power and mining practice, JLT Specialty USA said in a statement.
Mr. Phebus joins JLT from Greenwood Village, Colorado-based Newmont Mining Corp. where he was senior director of global risk management.
JLT Re, the reinsurance arm of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group P.L.C., said Thursday that it has named Pete Chandler executive vice president and managing broker.
