BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Heffernan Insurance Brokers said Monday that it is opening a London brokerage, Heffernan Brokers UK Ltd.

The brokerage will be led by Nick Murrell, executive vice president, who comes to Heffernan from Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group P.L.C., Walnut Creek, California-based Heffernan said in a statement, after having supported the Heffernan program for over a decade.

In an email, John J. Tallarida, executive vice president of Heffernan, said the brokerage has been trading with London brokers for 20 years and will continue to work with other brokerages. "We will not mandate use of this entity and will continue to trade with the many fine London brokerage firms," he said.

Mr. Murrell is tasked with expanding the London office and operations within the Lloyd’s and U.K. underwriting markets, according to the statement.

"I'm excited about this evolution as it consolidates and strengthens the marketing of the Heffernan Group programs, improving bargaining power and creating opportunities for bespoke solutions," Mr. Murrell said in a statement.
