Specialty insurer Hiscox Ltd. announced that Jeremy Pinchin, CEO of Hiscox Re and ILS and Hiscox Bermuda, will return to London next year, while Michael Krefta will take on the Bermuda-based roles effective Aug. 1.
Mr. Krefta is currently Hiscox Re’s chief underwriting officer. In his new role he will be based in Hamilton, Bermuda, and report to group CEO Bronek Masojada, London-based Hiscox said Thursday in a statement. He will also join the Hiscox executive committee.
Mr. Pinchin, who worked in Bermuda for five years, will continue as Hiscox group claims director and as a member of the Hiscox executive committee. He will also join the board of Hiscox Special Risks.
Mr. Masojada said in a statement that Mr. Krefta “has expertly guided the underwriting integrity that is so attractive to our third-party supporters, while instituting a more commercial approach in our underwriting.”
Mr. Pinchin, he added, “has had a huge influence on the evolution of our Bermudian operation.”
“In returning to London,” Mr. Masojada confident, “I am confident our group claims function will continue to benefit hugely from his leadership.”
Willis Re on Monday said James Kent, co-president of Willis Re and president of Willis Re North America, has been promoted to the new position of global deputy CEO of Willis Re, effective immediately.
