BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Mario Bonaccorso has been appointed chief financial officer of PartnerRe Ltd. replacing Bill Babcock, who served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for the past five years.

The reinsurer announced the executive management change Tuesday in a statement.

Also, PartnerRe Global’s CEO Charles Goldie and Marvin Pestcoe, CEO of life, health and strategic ventures, will join PartnerRe’s executive management team.

Mr. Bonaccorso, who will be based in Pembroke, Bermuda, has left his former position as managing director at the Italian investment firm Exor S.p.A and will no longer serve on the PartnerRe board. In his new position he will report to Emmanuel Clarke, PartnerRe’s president and CEO.

Mr. Clarke said in the statement that Mr. Bonaccorso’s “financial acumen and broad experience in managing Exor’s portfolio of companies will be extremely valuable. The additions of Mario, Charlie and Marvin to the executive committee further strengthen our leadership team, bringing new skills, deep experience and a fresh outlook as we seek to take PartnerRe to the next level.”

Mr. Babcock, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities, will remain executive vice president through the summer to support Mr. Bonaccorso during the transition period, the statement said.

“(Mr. Babcock) has been a highly valuable CFO and member of our executive team, having successfully led a number of strategic initiatives during his tenure at PartnerRe,” said Mr. Clarke in the statement. We will miss his deep knowledge of the industry, his sound judgment and his unflagging energy. We thank him for his considerable contribution to PartnerRe and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
