CNA taps ex-Chubb exec as senior vice president

CNA Financial Corp. has named Joel Townsend as its senior vice president claim, the Chicago-based insurer said Tuesday.
New York-based Mr. Townsend, who will be responsible for the “delivery of technical excellence” and customer service for CNA's global management liability, financial institutions and technology business units, will report to David Perry, senior vice president, specialty claim, said CNA in its statement.
He replaces Danielle Librizzi, who left the company last year.
Mr. Townsend had most recently served as senior vice president and worldwide specialty claims manager at Chubb Ltd., where he was responsible for the management of high severity and high profile claims, development and execution of home office and field claim handling, reporting and authority protocols, and coordination with business partners on specialty claim trend identification.
