Willis GB appoints CEO of financial lines

Willis Group Holdings P.L.C. has named London-based Mary O’Connor as the CEO of financial lines for Willis GB. The appointment is effective immediately.
Ms. O’Connor will join the executive committee of Willis GB, which includes Willis’ specialty, facultative and retail insurance businesses in Great Britain, Willis said in a Monday statement.
As the global head of Willis’ financial institutions industry Ms. O’Connor is responsible for Willis’ worldwide practice in relation to all financial services clients. She will maintain this role along with her new responsibilities as CEO of financial lines. Previously, Ms. O’Connor was head of approved persons at U.K. Financial Services Authority, according to the statement.
“Mary will continue to oversee the development of Willis’ strategy and value proposition for financial institutions globally. She has done a fantastic job leading Willis’ Financial Institutions global industry. In her new capacity she will take this to the next level as she leads the delivery of innovative risk management and broking services through Willis’ global network combined with our U.K. based financial and executive risks business,” Stefan Spohr, global head of industry for Willis said in the statement.
