BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Gilbert Canameras and Dirk Wegener have been elected as board members of the Federation of European Risk Management Associations.

Mr. Canameras is group risk and insurance chief officer and vice president of finance for Paris-based mining and metallurgical company Eramet S.A., and the immediate past president of the French risk management association l’Association pour le Management des Risques et de l’Assurance de l’Entreprise, or AMRAE.

Mr. Wegener is global head of corporate insurance for Frankfurt, Germany-based Deutsche Bank A.G. and a board member at the German in-house broker and captive association Bundesverband firmenverbundener Versicherungsvermittler und -gesellschaften e.V.

Three directors were re-elected to FERMA’s 12-member board after the expiration of their previous three-year mandates: Jo Willaert of the Belgian risk managers’ association BELRIM, Michel Dennery of AMRAE, and Isabel Martinez of Spanish risk management association Asociación Española de Gerencia de Riesgos y Seguros.

At a FERMA board meeting Thursday, Mr. Willaert was elected as FERMA president effective Oct. 7.

He will succeed Julia Graham, who recently became technical director of London-based Airmic Ltd., the U.K. risk management association.

Alessandro De Felice, vice president and board member of FERMA, did not seek a new mandate.

He recently has been elected chairman of the Italian risk management association Associazione Nazionale dei Risk Manager e Responsabili Assicurazioni Aziendali.

During the FERMA board meeting, Ms. Graham paid tribute to FERMA Secretary General Edwin Meyer, who died in February, and thanked former FERMA officials Pierre Sonigo, a longtime secretary general of the association, and Fernand De Winter, former treasurer, who have retired.
