Capsicum Reinsurance Brokers appoints partner to lead facultative division

Malcolm Payton has been appointed partner and head of the facultative division at reinsurance brokerage Capsicum Reinsurance Brokers L.L.P.

London-based Capsicum said Wednesday that Mr. Payton would join the company later this year.

He currently is head of property and energy for Guy Carpenter Facultative U.K., a division of Guy Carpenter & Co. L.L.C. in London.

Capsicum Re is a joint venture between Grahame Chilton, co-founder and former CEO of Benfield Group P.L.C. and former non-executive chairman of Aon P.L.C., Rupert Swallow, who was chief operating officer of Benfield at the time it was taken over by Aon, and Arthur J. Gallagher.

In a statement, Mr. Chilton described Mr. Payton as “one of the leading facultative brokers in the market” and added that “we are delighted that he is going to join the Capsicum team and lead this new class of business.”
