Gordon Newman named CEO of Lloyd's brokerage Cooper Gay

London-based brokerage Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford Ltd. has appointed Gordon Newman as CEO of its Lloyd's of London brokerage, Cooper Gay & Co. Ltd.
Mr. Newman succeeds Sam Hovey, who has left Cooper Gay with immediate effect, the company said Monday.
His appointment follows the acquisition last month of Lloyd's brokerage Newman Martin & Buchan L.L.P. by Cooper Gay.
In a statement, Toby Esser, group CEO of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford, said the move would help with the brokerage's international development, among other things.
