BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Cargo thefts increased in at least one Brazilian state during the first half of 2012 but decreased in Argentina, says a new report on Latin American cargo theft by FreightWatch International (USA) Inc.

The report, issued Monday by the Austin, Texas-based logistics security agency, says 4,546 cargo thefts were recorded in Brazil’s São Paulo state from Jan. 1 through June 30, 2012, an 18% increase from the total recorded during the same period in 2011.

In Argentina, however, the 683 cargo thefts reported in the first half was a 22% decrease for the total recorded in the same period in 2011.

The report also discusses cargo theft trends in Venezuela and Panama.

FreightWatch said in an earlier report that Mexico, Brazil and South Africa are most at risk for cargo theft.
