BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

BURLINGTON, Vt.—The Vermont Captive Insurance Assn. honored several captive industry participants for their commitment to the association and service to the captive industry during Wednesday morning's general session at this year's VCIA conference.

The VCIA board presented this year's Industry Service Award to Arthur Koritzinsky, New York-based managing director in Marsh Inc.'s Marsh Captive Solutions Group. The VCIA board presents the Industry Service Award each year in recognition of service to the captive industry and contributions to the industry's overall vitality and welfare.

The association presented honorary member awards to Alan D. Port, retired president of the Paul Frank & Collins P.C. law firm in Burlington and a member of the firm's captive insurance team since the early 1980s, and Brian Braley, vp of legislative affairs at the Housing Authority Insurance Group in Cheshire, Conn.

The VCIA bestows the lifetime honorary memberships to individuals who through extended periods of outstanding service or achievement have made contributions which have furthered the goals of the VCIA and strengthened the captive industry and the Vermont domicile.

Michael Bemi, president and CEO of the Lisle, Ill.-based National Catholic Risk Retention Group Inc. was awarded the VCIA's annual Captive Crusader Award. The honor is presented by the VCIA staff to recognize an individual's service and commitment to the organization “beyond the call of duty.”
