High bidders once again have a chance to break bread with the Oracle of Omaha.
Bidding has opened on the annual auction to have lunch with investor Warren Buffett. Better hurry, though, because bidding is only open until Friday at 7:30 p.m. PDT.
The meal won’t be cheap, though. The opening bid is $25,000—but that’s just the opening bid. In last year’s auction, the winning bid on eBay was $2.6 million. All bidders must be pre-qualified.
All proceeds benefit the San Francisco-based Glide Foundation, a social services organization that services 3,000 individuals annually in the San Francisco Bay area and provides more than 1 million meals annually, according to the organization.
This is the 13th year in a row Mr. Buffett has participated in this power lunch, which has raised more than $11.5 million.
No word, though, as to whether Mr. Buffett’s investing genius has rubbed off on any of the previous winners.
Of course, with a $25,000 pre-winning bid, participants are apparently not particularly hard up to begin with.
