Starbucks’ launch of hot new holiday cups goes cold

Well, that wasn’t beary nice.

Starbucks is apologizing after customers took to social media to complain that some of the coffee stores received only one or two of the new — and coveted — Bearista Cold Cup, a bear-shaped, 20-ounce holiday tumbler, with some shoppers alleging that employees bought them before doors opened, People magazine reported.

The cups sold out “almost instantly” after the release Thursday, according to the magazine.

Starbucks issued a statement saying that demand “exceeded expectations” and apologized for shortages, and promised more holiday merchandise to come alongside its 2025 holiday drink lineup.
