Oswald Companies

Oswald Companies was founded in 1893 in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. The majority employee-owned firm also has offices in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania, and we have partners throughout the eastern United States. We serve clients in all 50 states and are a member of Assurex Global Partners. Oswald is a founding partner of Unison Risk Advisors Inc., which aims to secure a thriving future for independent insurance and risk management firms. Today, Oswald is among the 40 largest and the top five largest independently owned insurance brokerage and risk management firms in the country. At Oswald, we do what’s best for our clients and employee-owners. We welcome employee-owners and their ideas to the table, so they can spark the innovations that drive our business forward. As such, they own their future. We value a healthy work-life balance so our employee-owners can take the time to enjoy what matters most to them. We encourage them to bring their whole selves to work and we celebrate our differences and commonalities through our employee resource groups (Women’s Leadership Council, Pride, Aspire and OswaldCLIMBS). These groups foster development and inclusion of people of all backgrounds and beliefs to build their careers and Oswald. We also develop our employee-owners through the traditional risk and insurance certifications and designations, as well as unique training paths for our sales and corporate administration employees. Our employee-owners are empowered to use these initiatives to enhance our interaction with clients and improve our impact on the community. Oswald was established on the core value of Commitment to Community. It’s not just a saying, it’s a way of life. In addition to flexible time off, a hybrid work schedule, and a robust benefits package that strives to provide for the needs and wants of multiple generations in the workforce, each person receives paid time off to volunteer in the community for causes that are important to them. Though we are headquartered in Cleveland, our employee-owners are empowered to engage in their own communities in the way that best benefits the local population. It’s part of our promise to deliver personalized service.
