Skyward Specialty Insurance Group announced Wednesday that it promoted John Burkhart to president, U.S. property and casualty.
In the expanded role, Houston-based Mr. Burkhart will oversee the captives and specialty programs divisions in addition to his current responsibilities for professional lines, industry solutions, surety, accident and health and transactional excess and surplus.
Claims, technology solution services and pricing actuarial also will report to him.
Mr. Burkhart joined Houston-based Skyward Specialty in 2021 as president of specialty lines. Before that he was head of professional lines and industry verticals at QBE North America.
