Axa XL named San Francisco-based Matthew Stitham chief underwriting officer, casualty, in the Americas. He succeeds Donnacha Smyth, who was named global chief underwriting officer, casualty, last year. Previously, Mr. Stitham was head of West excess and head of excess casualty.
