Mining firm robbed of 33 tons of gold, silver ore concentrate

Militants in Mexico hijacked a truck belonging to Grupo Minero Bacis SA de CV and stole 33 tons of gold and silver ore concentrate, making it one of the country’s largest recorded metal thefts, Zamin reported, citing Bloomberg. The incident occurred on the highway between Durango and the port of Manzanillo, where the armed attackers held the driver and guards hostage before escaping with the trailer and its contents.
