Mark Wilhelm, executive chairman of Safety National, will receive the 2025 Business Insurance Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding accomplishments in the insurance and risk management sector.
He will accept the award during the Business Insurance U.S. Insurance Awards on July 17 in New York.
Mr. Wilhelm joined Safety National in 1977, serving as an underwriter and taking on positions of increasing responsibility before being named CEO in 2010. Under his leadership, Safety National grew significantly and expanded beyond its core excess workers compensation business to offer large-deductible casualty coverage, excess and surplus lines insurance, cyber liability and other specialties.
In 2022, Mr. Wilhelm was named executive chairman of Safety National and chief brokerage relationships officer for its parent Tokio Marine Group.
The Business Insurance Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the risk management sector over the course of their careers. Recipients are selected by the editorial staff.
All the honorees are entered into the Business Insurance Hall of Fame.
