Mapfre’s profit charges higher

Spain-based Mapfre SA posted a nine-month net profit of 829 million euros ($967 million), up 27% year over year, TradingView reports, citing Reuters. The group’s non-life combined ratio improved to 92% from 95%, while premiums rose 3% to €22.4 billion. Profit in Spain and Portugal reached €347 million, up 22%, which helped offset one-time costs and currency effects in other markets.
