Honk if you drive aggressively

Research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety shows that 96% of drivers conceded that they used aggressive driving behaviors in the past year.

And 92% admit doing things that endanger people, such as driving too fast and cutting people off. Eleven percent acknowledged violent actions, like bumping another car on purpose or confronting another driver.

Cutting people off has risen 67% since 2016, and honking because of anger is up 47%. There were decreases in tailgating and yelling at other drivers, the American Property Casualty Insurance Association said in a release that had the stats.

“Changes in driving patterns, lifestyles, and technology (both inside and outside the vehicle) in the past decade may have changed the types of behaviors that road users perceive as aggressive, as well as the causes and contributing factors of aggressive driving behaviors,” the trade group said.

Clearly we need to temper our anger behind the wheel.
