Everest Group on Thursday named Elias Habayeb, formerly chief financial officer of Corebridge Financial, as executive vice president and group CFO, effective May 1, 2026.

He succeeds Mark Kociancic, who will retire from the company after the first quarter.

Mr. Habayeb, based in New York, will report to President and CEO Jim Williamson and will join Everest’s executive leadership team.

Before joining Corebridge Financial in 2022, Mr. Habayeb was CFO in various divisions of American International Group, where he led the IPO that spun off its life and retirement business, Corebridge Financial, as an independent company.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Habayeb was CFO of International Lease Finance Corp., an AIG subsidiary, and a partner in Deloitte & Touche’s capital markets group.

Mr. Kociancic, who joined Everest in 2020, will remain as a special adviser through the transition period.

Everest recently announced the sale of the renewal rights of its commercial retail insurance business to American International Group, releasing an estimated $2 billion in premiums.
