Cyberattack hits reserve accounts of six banks

Brazil’s central bank reported that tech services provider C&M Software suffered a cyberattack that led to unauthorized access to reserve accounts of at least six financial institutions, including Banco Modal SA, Business Standard reported, citing Reuters. The affected accounts, used exclusively for interbank settlement at the central bank, did not impact client balances. C&M said critical systems remain operational and that it is cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
